Abstract
A single case study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of a
reinforcement-based toilet training procedure for student with severe
intellectual disabilities. In the study, Azrin/Foxx’s scheduled toileting was
combined with forward prompting procedure, meanwhile, functional communication
training was included to promote request-based toileting in classroom setting.
Although urination accidents had not dropped to zero and independent request
had not been established at the end of the intervention, it is anticipated that
the insights in this action research benefit to other teachers.
