Abstract

With increasing numbers of students with diverse needs included in general education, it is important that special and general education teachers, students and their parents contribute effectively to the education process. This article starts by ensuring that testing and teaching methods are state-of-the-art, that teachers fully understand the special education process and are able to contribute to the construction of an effective instructional plan. They must also be able to assess and address individual learning characteristics and actively involve all students in the learning process. This article discusses the role and importance of using interactive and authentic assessment and teaching methodology to facilitate successful inclusion.
